Michael Carroll
Michael Carroll was an American photographer that changed the world when he went to Romania. He made a move called "Hand Held" that showed people how life was hard in Romania. He went to Romania during the Revolution to find the truth. While he was their he went to a orphanage and saw what the kids were going through. Parents would just go to the orphanage and just drop off their child their. When Michael was their he saw that the kids had diseases, and they would let them die because there was nothing they could do. Michael saw their difficulties and wanted to help. He started an organization called "Romanian Children Relief" to help them. During the years he has helped them by giving them cloths, toys, blankets, etc. Romania has defiantly improved and got better because of him. He made people see that they needed help and people did help. Orphanages in Romania still suffer some problems. Parent still put their child up for adoption because they are very poor. Romania is a very poor county, If they cant feed themselves how are they going to feed another person? The only thing that has changed I think is the disease, there is less diseases going around. Also more people know now that they can adopt a child in Romania because in the past no one knew about it. '
Hand Held" really touched me emotionally. I thought it was a beautiful movie and it definitely touches the heart of whoever is watching it.
Below here are some pictures that he took in Romania.
